"CHL", Charlie Haas Layfield humiliated JBL by mocking him. Backstage, JBL walked up to Batista and Kelly Kelly. JBL told Batista that they were both main eventers and that Charlie Haas has nothing in common with them. Batista agreed and said Charlie won his match tonight while JBL did not. Jericho and JBL worked as a tag team. JBL enjoyed an extended offensive advantage on Batista. Batista regained the advantage and attempted a Batista Bomb on Jericho but was distracted by Cade. JBL used the advantage to hit the Closeline from Hell. Jericho slithered his way into the ring, made the cover, and scored the victory...

After the match, JBL and Cade (no Jericho) continued the beatdown of Batista. However, Batista came back and speared JBL. He hit a spinebuster on Cade and followed it up with a Batista Bomb. Jericho almost made out with his belt on the stage as he and Batista exchanged stares..

Jericho vs C.M. Punk in a steel cage started off the show. Backstage Batista watched Jericho leave the ringside area after his win.

Later, JBL staged an in-ring protest, demanding GM Mike Adamle name him the #1 contender to Jericho's belt. Randy Orton comes out, then Santino and Beth Phoenix and finally, Batista.

Batista proposes he and JBL fight for the contender spot, then says he'll take the belt form Jericho, and beat every challenger who steps up until Orton is cleared to fight again -then Batista will beat him too! Santino takes exception to Batista's ignoring Team Glamorella. Batista apologizes, then turns to Beth and offers her a chance at a match with the promise of her getting a beating like JBL and Randy.

Adamle comes on screen to announce that Jericho's oppenent for No Mercy will be announced later tonight. Batista offers to plead his case now then attacks JBL and Santino. (Orton jumped out of the ring).

With Santino laid out, Beth gets in Batista's face and yells at him for insulting her earlier. She slaps him. Twice. Ever the gentleman, Batista holds it in but the second slap is too much. He scoops her up and slams her to the mat with Santino.

Later, Batista pays the GM (with Lance Cade) a visit to find out if Adamle has named him for the No Mercy Match. He leaves without a clear answer. In the end, Adamle makes Batista vs JBL at No Mercy, the winner to face the champion.

The Raw following No Mercy. Batista defeated JBL the night before to become the #1 contender for the World Heavyweight title held by Chris Jericho. The Animal wasted no time in setting up his rematch by confronting the champ and demanding Jericho set the date for the rematch. Jericho tells him that GM Mike Adamle is away in a meeting with Shane and Stephanie McMahon and has left him (Jericho) in charge. That said, Jericho makes a rematch of Batista vs JBL for the number contendership...again.

Batista responds with two things:
1. He's the number one contender
2. If Jericho messes with the bull, he'll get the horn!

Then, he Batista Bombed Jericho!

Later in the show, Jericho is backstage plotting with Randy Orton.

Throughout the show, clips were shown of John Cena's neck surgery and rehab. Several Superstars had things to say about Cena, including Batista.

Main event time, Jericho is the special referee in the Batista vs. JBL match.
...With Randy Orton as special commentator
...And William Regal as special timekeeper

The deck is stacked against Batista. Jericho counts fast when JBL is in pinning position and sloooow when Batista has the upperhand. William Regal interferes. JBL and Jericho work together to take advantage of Batista.

This is all bad -and then, Batista knocks the two of them out with a double clothesline. But now there's no one to make the count!

Until Adamle shows up -his meeting must have ended early -and he brings a new ref with him and Batista gets the pin 1-2-3

The GM ends the show with a big Cyber Sunday announcement: It will be Jericho defending his title against Batista at the next ppv and the fans will vote for the special referee.

Footage aired of Raw last week and what went down between Batista and Chris Jericho.

Jericho stepped into the ring and complained that Lilian, the locker room, the fans, and Mike Adamle were constantly disrespecting him.

Batista's music hit and his shirt fit him this week.

"You don't demand respect; you earn respect." Batista said then continued with, if Jericho beat him at Cyber Sunday, he will have earned some respect. He told Jericho to stop whining and to shut his mouth or Batista would shut it for him.

Mike Adamle came onstage to tell Batista and Jericho they would face the same three opponents tonight in a gauntlet match.

The two men faced off in ring. Jericho slapped Batista in the face and quickly skadaddled.

The gauntlet match actually made next to no sense. Each wrestler had to fight the same three opponents. Sure, there was a slight advantage to going second but... anyway:

Batista defeated William Regal. Knocked him silly, quickly. Jericho then beat the already beaten Regal.

Jericho lost by DQ to Mark Henry after Jericho used the title belt. Batista then came in and beat the belt-loopy Henry again.

Kane beat Jericho with a pin. Then...Batista came in and speared Kane to pick up his 3rd win to Jericho's one.

The show went off air with Batista and Jericho staring each other down, each already preparing for CyberSunday.

Batista opens the show, coming out to his full intro and dressed to fight. In the ring he announces that he wants to invoke the rematch clause and regain his belt.

Stephanie McMahon comes on the TitanTron and tells Batista his rematch will have to wait until after Survivor Series

After Stephanie leaves the screen, Randy Orton's music hits. He says he's better than Batista, has been since Evolution. Batista challenges Orton to a match tonight.

Orton vs. Batista. Batista enters first, with another full intro, then Orton, then Priceless...less Dibiase. Cody says he's taking on Batista tonight and Randy is all to happy to step aside.

Cody works over Batista's steel cage injured leg and get's in a fair amount of offense. Batista ends up with the win, a Batista Bomb to Cody but dedicated to Orton. After the match, Batista stared down, then walked down to Orton. Surprisingly, Orton wanted none of it and slithered to the back.
